I'm a theatrical designer with more than 25 years of professional experience in lighting design for live performance. My career has included work on Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional, and international productions, collaborating with artists and creative teams across a wide range of theatrical styles and scales. I am currently an Associate Professor of Lighting Design at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where I teach and mentor emerging designers.

While my work has long been rooted in lighting design, my interests have increasingly expanded into projection and media design. I'm particularly interested in exploring the integration of light, imagery, and scenic environments as expressive elements of visual storytelling. Through professional practice and interdisciplinary collaboration, I investigate how these elements work together to shape theatrical space, communicate narrative, and influence the audience's experience.

Outside the theatre, I enjoy gardening, cooking, camping, birdwatching, and just about anything that connects me with nature. I also love traveling, whether it's to spend time with friends and family or to explore places I've never been.
